ENERCON and Max Bögl extend partnership

Focus on joint expansion of wind energy and sustainable tower technologies

The two companies Max Bögl and ENERCON will continue their collaboration in the future. The industry pioneers have now extended their partnership and signed a new framework agreement for their cooperation.

Continuing the partnership is a logical step based on their collaboration over the past years: “Our alliance is built on mutual trust, which has grown through reliable joint work over many years,” says Stefan Bögl, Chairman of the Board of Max Bögl Group. “On this solid foundation, we are now jointly developing our cooperation further.” The framework agreement establishes a new supply contract for Bögl’s hybrid towers, providing long-term planning security for both companies. Together, they aim to further advance the energy transition.

ENERCON CEO Udo Bauer explains: “The new framework agreement forms the basis for continued collaboration. For us, the partnership is another building block to meet growing demand. Together with our supplier partners, we ensure that we remain capable of delivering to our customers during this market upswing.”

In recent years, the wind industry has seen a steady increase in market demand for tall tower systems for wind turbines, to best meet the needs of new turbine generations. The German government's action plan published in May 2023 aims to accelerate the expansion of onshore wind energy in Germany, including by reducing approval barriers. “The new framework conditions are having an impact and are resulting in increased orders for our hybrid towers,” says Josef Knitl, Board Member of Max Bögl Wind AG.

ENERCON also offers tower variants with Max Bögl solutions for its new turbines. Bögl’s hybrid towers impress with hub heights of up to 200 meters, serial production, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the experienced hybrid tower manufacturer uses environmentally friendly concrete for the production of its precast components. This is also an important factor for ENERCON, which increasingly aims to offer its customers sustainable tower variants produced with reduced emissions - a double win for the energy transition.
