Energy for the world. This was the idea that spurred Aloys Wobben on as he developed his first wind turbine back in 1984. Even when faced with opposition, he continued to back his idea, which is more relevant now than ever before. His aim was always to make energy supply more independent and to use renewable energy to achieve social progress while also playing a significant role in preserving the natural resources on which we all rely. In this age of climate change, rising energy demands and dependence on imported fossil fuels, we are stepping up with our products to provide technical solutions for a sustainable future and a successful energy transition.

In 2012, ENERCON founder and owner Dr Aloys Wobben transferred all his shares in the company to the Aloys Wobben Stiftung, a trust which ensures the business remains independent and has a corporate strategy that is focussed on the future. The Aloys Wobben Stiftung is the sole owner of the ENERCON holding company UEE Holding, which is the umbrella under which all companies involved in providing core and support services are organised.
