ENERCON’s new E‑175 EP5 E2 enters Turkish market with 70 MW order

Agreement with REGES Elektrik marks first deployment of ENERCON’s latest 7 MW onshore turbine in Türkiye and REGES Elektrik’s debut wind energy investment

ENERCON and REGES Elektrik have officially launched a new strategic partnership by signing a turbine supply agreement for the Demirli Wind Farm to be constructed in Kırşehir. Under the agreement, ENERCON will supply 10 x E‑175 EP5 E2 wind turbines, totaling 70 MW of installed capacity. Announced during a signing ceremony held at REGES Elektrik’s headquarters in Istanbul, the agreement represents the first order of the new E‑175 EP5 E2 model in Türkiye.

Beyond symbolizing the first collaboration between ENERCON and REGES Elektrik, the agreement marks a strategic milestone for both companies, as it constitutes REGES Elektrik’s debut investment in the wind energy sector. By selecting ENERCON as its technology partner for this inaugural wind investment, the company is broadening its renewable energy portfolio and extending its operations into the wind power segment—an important step in its long-term diversification strategy.

The project also signifies the official entry of ENERCON’s next-generation E‑175 EP5 E2 wind turbine into the Turkish market. Featuring a large rotor diameter of 175 meters, advanced engineering solutions, and high energy yield, the E‑175 EP5 E2 stands as ENERCON’s most powerful and efficient onshore turbine to date.

The new top model is also among the highest yielding onshore wind turbines in Europe and a core element of ENERCON’s solution portfolio, which supports customers with integrated solutions for the green energy ecosystem. With these solutions, ENERCON provides answers to the complex requirements of the evolving energy system and delivers tangible added value for customer projects worldwide.

The 70 MW order for the Demirli Wind Farm underscores the growing demand for advanced wind energy technologies in Türkiye. Commenting on the agreement, Arif Günyar, ENERCON Regional Head for Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa (CAMEA), states: ‘We are very pleased to introduce our E‑175 EP5 E2 wind turbine to the Turkish market in partnership with REGES Elektrik. We thank REGES Elektrik for their trust in ENERCON technology and look forward to strengthening our cooperation through future projects.’

Mustafa Ünal, Chairman of the Board of REGES Elektrik, also comments on the collaboration: ‘This agreement represents a significant milestone for REGES Elektrik as we make our first investment in wind energy. Partnering with ENERCON and deploying the E-175 EP5 E2 turbines aligns perfectly with our long-term vision to expand our renewable energy portfolio with high-efficiency, future-proof technologies. We are proud to bring this landmark project to life and to contribute to Türkiye’s energy transition with a strong and reliable partner.’
