The annular generator - comprising rotor and stator - forms the key component of the ENERCON wind energy converter design. Combined with the hub, it provides optimal energy flow. The sophisticated wind energy converter technology means minimal vibration during operation, low sound emissions and a long service life.
Benefits and featuresAll fixed-position nacelle components such as main carrier, ventilation modules and power electronics components are housed in the machine house. The entire drive train is borne by the main carrier and is designed to withstand the highest dynamic stresses.
Yaw drives ensure optimal yaw control of the nacelle. During operation of the WEC, the nacelle is turned automatically to the wind in order to capture maximum power. The number of yaw drives used varies according to the wind turbine type.
The E-module is borne by the wind energy converter tower base. Power cabinets and other components are arranged on different levels. They use inverters to transform direct current into alternating current that conforms to grid requirements. Inverter technology and control systems are among ENERCON's core competencies.
Benefits of control systemsThe hub constitutes the link between rotor blade and wind energy converter. It is part of the timetested ENERCON direct drive and forms a direct unit with the rotor's annular generator. The rotor unit is borne on the axle pin. It is manufactured from state-of-the-art spheroidal graphite cast iron in a foundry that casts exclusively for ENERCON, meaning it conforms to the high quality requirements.
The innovative aerodynamic design of ENERCON rotor blades has won over customers time and time again. Maximum power, low noise emissions and minimal structural loads ensure an optimal yield in the widest variety of weather conditions.
Benefits and featuresENERCON towers are designed for optimal load dynamics, and manufactured in several individual tower sections. Both steel and precast concrete towers are subject to the strictest quality standards to ensure later stability and a long service life. Depending on the wind turbine type and site, the towers are available in various hub heights.
The foundation is the link between the tower and the subsoil, and bears all static and dynamic loads from the wind turbine. The ENERCON foundation concept thus offers standardised solutions for various foundations. Additional specifications are possible based on the geotechnical report at the site, allowing varying construction projects to be realised within a short time.
