ENERCON has installed more than 20 GW of wind energy capacity in Germany. The milestone in the installation of onshore wind energy converters was reached in calendar week 50 at the Ellwanger Berge wind farm. For this project close to the A7 motorway in the district of Ostalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg, ENERCON is currently installing a total of 10 E-115/3 MW turbines on hybrid towers at a hub height of 149 metres for the customer W-I-N-D Energien GmbH.
“We are delighted with the sustainable success story that we have been able to create together with our customers in Germany over the course of more than 30 years”, says ENERCON Sales Director Stefan Lütkemeyer. “With this, we have worked together to make a significant contribution to the implementation of the decentralised energy transition. Our installed power is enough to render 20 nuclear power plants redundant. This shows we are on the right track in our efforts to restructure our energy system towards 100% renewables. We will not waver in our commitment. We will continue to push forward with the energy transition in the years to come.”
ENERCON is the market leader in Germany. Since its foundation in 1984, the company has installed more than 26,500 onshore wind energy converters worldwide. This corresponds to an installed global power of more than 43.5 GW.
